Purpose of this blog

I am a blog stalker hopper. I follow over 50 primary educator blogs. The blogs I follow all focus on teaching ideas and showcasing learning in their own classroom.

As I begin to develop my own blog, I think about my favorite bloggers. The ones that I visit the most showcase student learning in their class and post often. In developing this blog, I believe that I will  follow some of my favorite bloggers. I plan on using this blog to showcase my kindergarten students' learning of Reading and Math Common Core Georgia Performance Standards.

I hope to inspire and encourage other educators with my blog as others has inspired and encouraged me and my teaching.

I believe blogging is a powerful teaching and learning tool for both teachers and students. I want to use this small place on the Internet to reflect on my students' learning and eventually allow my students to reflect on their own learning and understanding.

I hope you will join me in this journey as I learn how to use blogging as a way to enhance my teaching and my students' learning.

Please leave a comment below and subscribe to my blog.

Thank you!

  1. Hello Trinecia,
I am new at blogging, but just like you I am learning from other educational blogs on how I want my blog to look like and be when my students and parents enter it. How wonderful it is when we display our students work on the wall and now we can take it a step further and put it online where all could see. Many family members (mom, dad, brother, sister, grandma, grandpa, uncle, auntie, and etc…) can see the growth of the child in the classroom. I agree with you when you say blogging is a powerful teaching and learning tool for teachers and students. To allow students to reflect on their learning and understanding is what we want to do as teachers. It will make them more independent and accountable for their learning. I am wondering are you going to leave your blog public for all or just for the parents and students?

    1. Hello Haydee,

Thank you for commenting. I believe that I will leave my blog public. My school already requires a website/internet and media permission form. These forms allows us to publish students' work, pictures of our students online. I will make sure that my parents understand how we will use this blog and how their students will be seen on this blog. I believe that opening my blog to all will allow me, as well as, my students to see others' perperspectives from all over the internet or world.
